To offer iDEAL | Wero, you need to enter into an iDEAL | Wero agreement with one of the participating contracting parties. They offer various (technical) options for implementing iDEAL | Wero.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. As a non-Dutch organisation you can still offer iDEAL | Wero to your Dutch customers, and you don't need a Dutch bank account yourself. You'll need a contract with an iDEAL | Wero partner — a Collecting Payment Service Provider (CPSP) — who collects the payments on your behalf and credits them to your own bank account abroad.
iDEAL | Wero is offered through a network of acquirers and CPSPs — together, iDEAL | Wero partners. You'll need a merchant contract with one of them, and they'll also handle the technical integration for your checkout.
Each partner sets its own acceptance policy, but at minimum you'll need a Chamber of Commerce registration (or foreign equivalent) and a business bank account. See Partners to find one, or watch the video above for a short walkthrough of what happens behind the scenes during a payment.
If your platform collects payments on behalf of other companies and passes the money on to them, it needs to be registered as a Payment Service Provider with a European regulator — in the Netherlands, De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) — to comply with PSD2. Once registered, you'll be classified as a CPSP and will need to be certified by Currence before you can offer iDEAL | Wero on your platform.
